East-West Supremo to Speak at Dinner at the Roundhouse

Rob Brighouse, the chairman of the East West Railways – the £4bn-plus new rail link that will soon connect the leading university cities of Oxford and Cambridge – is announced as a keynote speaker at the Dinner at the Roundhouse, Derby, on Thursday October 19.

Rob, who is one of the UK’s most qualified senior railway managers with over 40 years experience of placing major contracts, will be on stage with Amtrak CEO Charles W. Woodman, who is flying over specially from the United States to make his presentation.

Over 500 people have already booked their places at the premier networking event of the year outside London. This year’s celebrity host is long-serving BBC football commentator John Motson, regarded by many as one of our national treasures.

Rob Brighouse, who is on Network Rail’s main board, was Managing Director of Chiltern Railways, and as an engineer has already led several other massive route upgrades. Charles W. Woodman manages one of the world’s biggest railway operations across 46 states and is based just a stone’s throw from President Trump at the White House in Washington.

 

The 2017 Dinner at the Roundhouse is the climax of a day when hundreds of senior figures will be visiting the city for a series of ‘Engine Room’ special events at the Annual Conference of Rail Forum Midlands, which represents 150 businesses employing over 25,000 people..

 

Dinner at the Roundhouse takes place in the 1839 Roundhouse that is now within Derby College, and provides the unique chance for convivial informal networking until 1.30am.

 

The audience includes many of the UK’s major transport decision makers, including ministers, MPs, worldwide manufacturers, passenger and freight train operators, rolling stock leasing companies, suppliers.
