RFM Welcomes Simon Higgens MBE to The Board

Rail Forum Midlands (RFM) is delighted to announce that Simon Higgens MBE, Group Business Development and Strategic Partnerships Director at ISS Labour has joined our Board as a Director. This follows the resignation of Barry Aldridge (formerly with Tidyco) in November 2019.

Simon has been co-opted onto the Board to strengthen our infrastructure representation and he will put himself forward for formal election in summer of 2020. Simon brings a wealth of experience in rail and is well known to many members. He is passionate about the skills agenda and the role of  SMEs having previously been the SME Champion on the Rail Supply Group Council.

On his appointment Simon said; “Having been a member of RFM for 7 years and having benefitted from what membership has offered both my business and the wider rail industry, I am honoured to join the Board at such an exciting and important time in the rail industry.  Drawing on my experience in the rail infrastructure and skills sectors, I especially want to contribute to the Board’s input to the Rail Sector Deal and play my part in addressing the Skills Gap across the Midlands”.

RFM Chair Paul Robinson added; “I am delighted that Simon is joining the RFM Director team and look forward to working with him. Simon is very well respected across the industry and he will bring added strategic focus to our work”.
