Recently, our team came together to support a local football ground in Treharris, South Wales.
Following the hard work of local volunteers, the previously unused, derelict football pitch was opened last year as the Treharris Athletic football ground. The ground acts as the vibrant home for the Treharris Minis & Juniors, which includes players aged five to under 16.
Through local contacts, it was brought to our attention that the surrounding areas of the grounds had become heavily vegetated, causing issues for access. Our team came together to dedicate a day to supporting the local club.
Equipped with hedge trimmers, brush cutters, and other tools, our colleagues trimmed the boundary trees, cut back the bushes, and removed intrusive vegetation, tidying up the pitch, car park and surrounding access areas.
The club was grateful for the work undertaken, with Keiron Jones, Chairman of Treharris Minis and Juniors FC, expressing: “The work you have done for us at the ground has been invaluable, making it safe again, and looking more presentable. It has also kept the local community happy. We are extremely grateful for your help.”
Across Dyer & Butler, we are passionate about finding opportunities to give back to the communities in which we work, in line with our Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) commitments.
