Rail Forum is pleased to announce the launch of its Patron Podcast Series, providing a platform for industry leaders and innovators to discuss the ideas shaping the future of the UK’s railways. The inaugural episode focuses on Initiate, a solution recently introduced in Scotland that is transforming how possessions are managed on the railway.
Craig Milne, Planning and Logistics Director at Network Rail Scotland, and Ben Rudkin, Operations Director at Rail Forum Patron member Resonate, join the first episode to discuss the practical improvements Initiate has delivered, including enhancements to safety, efficiency, and operational planning.
“It can be done,” says Craig Milne. “With the right focus and team, innovations like Initiate can be implemented quickly and deliver real benefits on the network.”
Ben Rudkin adds, “Working closely with Network Rail has been central to the system’s deployment. The collaboration shows how partnership can accelerate the introduction of technology in a complex operational environment.”
The Rail Forum Patron Podcast Series will continue to feature leading voices from Patron members and industry guests, exploring innovation, collaboration, and practical solutions that improve the railway for passengers, freight, and staff.
Elaine Clark OBE, Chief Executive Officer at Rail Forum, said: “Our Patron Podcast Series, starting with Resonate, will shine a spotlight on game-changing ideas shaping today’s railway. Each episode will explore different aspects of rail reform, giving industry leaders and innovators a platform to share how we can deliver a better railway. This is exactly what Great British Railways should be about – innovation, collaboration, and delivering real benefits for passengers, freight customers, and the wider economy.”
