Rail Safety Week 2027 Launches

Rail Forum is pleased to announce that Rail Safety Week 2027 will be taking place on the 21-27 June 2027. The initiative is designed to bring the rail industry together and place safety firmly in the spotlight, reinforcing the shared commitment to ensuring everyone who uses, works on, or lives near the railway returns home safe, every day.

Following a successful Rail Safety Week 2026, with over 150 particpating organisations, Rail Forum are also delighted to announce that Carlisle Support Services will continue as the headline sponsor for Rail Safety Week 2027.

Pual Evans, Chief Executive Officer at Carlisle Support Services, said:

“We’re proud to be returning as a headline sponsor of Rail Safety Week 2027 for the second time.

At Carlisle Support Services, safety is at the heart of everything we do, and we recognise the vital role it plays in protecting passengers, colleagues and communities across the rail network. This sponsorship reflects our ongoing commitment to working collaboratively with industry partners to raise awareness, share best practice and help make our railways safer for everyone.”

Rail Safety Week provides a dedicated platform for organisations across the sector to share ideas, highlight good practice and start important conversations about safety. The week encourages everyone connected with rail to consider the role they can play in building a safer railway.

Throughout Rail Safety Week 2027, organisations are encouraged to plan and share activities that put safety at the forefront. These could include briefings and toolbox talks, site and depot initiatives, learning sessions, leadership conversations, employee engagement, community outreach and digital campaigns. By sharing activity across the industry, Rail Safety Week helps good practice travel further and encourages continued learning and collaboration.

Elaine Clark OBE, CEO of Rail Forum and Industry Lead for Rail Safety Week, said:

“Rail Safety Week provides an important opportunity for our industry to come together around a shared commitment to ensuring everyone who uses, works on, or lives near the railway stays safe. Each year, organisations across the sector demonstrate tremendous dedication in sharing good practice and engaging colleagues, communities and future generations. We encourage everyone to get involved in Rail Safety Week 2027 and help keep safety at the forefront of everything we do.”

Rail Safety Week is open to the whole rail community. Organisations can take part by developing their own events and activities, sharing safety messages with colleagues and customers, and joining the wider conversation across social media.

Further information, resources and updates will be shared through the Rail Safety Week website and social media channels. Organisations taking part are encouraged to share their activity so it can be amplified across the Rail Safety Week community.
