The Rail Forum Panel were impressed by the range of submissions, having impact across all of the scoring themes and reminding us of the great strength the UK offers around problem-solving and challenge-led innovation.
It is the responsibility of the whole industry to actively support and nurture innovation across rail and we encourage the wider industry to continue to be receptive to ideas, respective of intellectual property and welcoming for testing and demonstration.
The three regional finalists have been put forward for the international finals, together with regional finalists from the other clusters. At this stage, appointed judges from all of the ERCI clusters will score each application and the winners of the three awards will be officially announced at Innotrans!

We have been thrilled by the quality of submissions to this year’s regional round. The Regional Judging Panel were impressed by the significant potential impacts that each of our regional winners could delivery for railway operations and we watch the next steps with eager anticipation. Our involvement in the European Rail Clusters Initiative is a principal activity across our membership offer with particular emphasis around innovation and knowledge sharing as well as market expansion and profile raising.
