Rail Forum and our Manufacturing Steering Group invites our manufacturing members to join us in Locomotion, Shildon in celebration of Make UK’s National Manufacturing Day.
This networking event, in partnership with National Railway Museum, will provide manufacturing members the opportunity to hear from keynote speakers exploring topics such as UK manufacturing, deepening UK supply chains, green materials and innovation.
Delegates will also have the opportunity to take part in a tour of the Shildon site, and enjoy a 1km stroll to visit the Revolution vehicle in preparation of the 27 September (Railway 200 celebration).

Format
The event will commence with some short updates from our speakers before a relaxed networking lunch. The tour will commence at 1:45pm and run until 3pm. Please note, to take part in the tour sensible flat shoes and Hi-Vis vest are required.

We encourage any manufacturing members to attend as well as any organisations that may wish to explore working with UK manufacturing to support their businesses.
Eligibility Criteria
Strictly 1 person per member company.
Dietary requirements – please include any special requirements in the Additional Comments box when booking.
Bookings will close at midday on 13 September 2025 unless fully booked, with joining information issued on 15th September.
Please note that to participate in the tour, you will need to be able to walk 1 km to the Revolution vehicle, and back again. This is largely flat terrain with some embedded tracks.
