Understanding IR35 Rule Changes

Date/Time

2:00pm - 3:00pm

Location

This event will take place online.

This event is especially relevant to HR and Finance Directors and to MDs of smaller businesses.

We are delighted to confirm that Emma Tice, Partner and Employment Specialist at Geldards LLP has agreed to provide an update and explanation on the IR35 changes planned for the new tax year.

IR35 is otherwise known as “off payroll working” and it deals with the tax position of so called contractors that businesses engage via an intermediary.  If IR35 is triggered it places significant additional obligations on the end user client, who benefits from the work of that individual.  So it is important that all parts of the supply chain understand the new rules, what implications there are, if any, for their business, the individuals involved and where there are implications that the right processes are put in place.

IR35 has been in the public sector for almost 4 years now.  It was postponed from implementation into the private sector last April.  It is now set to be implemented into the private sector from April 2021.  During this event Emma will present the salient points around the changes to ensure that you are ready.

IR35 is not the easiest of subjects but rest assured that you will leave the session with a full understanding of IR35, the legislation and (most importantly) what this means for you and your business;  so you know what you need to put in place to protect you and ensure compliance. There will of course be time for questions during the event but if you have questions/issues you would like to raise in advance anonymously please send these through to Elaine and we will collate them to ensure they are addressed.

About our presenter…….Emma Tice is a Partner at Geldards LLP, specialising in employment law and HR.  She has a no nonsense approach, injecting personality into even the most dry of topics.  Emma understands that employment law often operates in the grey areas but that businesses want clear advice, and she fully accepts that challenge.  Ranked in the Legal 500 as being “popular with clients” this approach must work.  It also makes for an engaging presentation style.

The event will be held online using our Zoom account. Bookings are now open and you can reserve your places below.

Please note this event is for RFM members only.

Bookings will close at 12pm on Tuesday 27th April and joining information will be sent out that afternoon.
