University of Derby Enscite Workshop : Three-Dimensional Concurrent Engineering (3DCE) Workshop

Date/Time
Date(s) - September 19 2019
9:30am - 1:00pm

Location
iHub

3DCE is a structured holistic approach, using specially developed toolkits to understand technology (TRL), manufacturing (MRL) and supply chain readiness (SCRL).  TRL, MRL and SCRL are tools to help your business to categorise a product or a product subcategory in terms of its level of readiness for market. 3DCE is designed to support your manufacturing / engineering business to strengthen resilience through a structured approach. Businesses who concurrently consider the trade-offs between TRL/MRL/SCRL as an integral part of the new product development process have the potential to launch their products faster, more reliably and at lower total costs than their competitors.

This workshop is an opportunity for you to gain an understanding of the Three-Dimensional Concurrent Engineering Approach (3DCE).

Experts from Aston University, will provide you with an overview of the approach and how this could help your business to improve efficiency and to grow.  You will hear from experts in these fields from Aston University:

  • Aristides Matopoulos – Reader (Associate Professor) in Supply Chain Design & Logistics Systems
  • Dr Yuchun Xu – Senior Lecturer in Manufacturing
  • Dr Brian Price – Lecturer, School of Engineering Systems & Management

Refreshments and a light lunch will be provided.  There will be a chance for networking following the workshop.
