HARTING Railway Web-Seminars focus on retrofit and weight reduction

HARTING’s successful series of Railway Web-Seminars carries on into March and April as they continue to assess the most important trends in the railway industry. Next up, the focus turns to solutions for retrofit and weight reduction, topics which offer customers the chance to make significant time and cost savings.

The first event takes place on Wednesday 31st March with a look at Solutions for upgrade and retrofit.

During a fleet overhaul, operators are looking for high reliability, low maintenance costs and compliance with safety and current standards.

Thanks to their modularity, connectors and pre-assembled cable sets from HARTING support time and cost-efficient rail vehicle overhauls and offer optimal conditions for future retrofitting and expansion. Hard-wired interfaces can also be replaced by highly flexible, miniaturised, lightweight connectors.

Join this web-seminar and discover how to optimise operating and maintenance costs, expand data networks and meet current rail-relevant standards using retrofittable solutions.

On Thursday 22nd April, the focus switches to Weight reduction and CO2 footprint.

Railway vehicle manufacturers are striving to reduce the energy consumption per passenger-kilometre driven. In this respect, weight is one of the most important factors.

Compact, lighter connectors and weight-reduced cable assemblies can make a measurable contribution, totalling up to a few kilograms per wagon. This reduction has a positive effect on energy consumption, especially over the long service life of rail vehicles.

Register now and learn about new solutions to replace distribution boxes and optimise cable routing, how cabling can contribute to weight reduction and space-saving products such as the new Han® HPR Compact connector series.

You only need to register once to gain access to both sessions. If you cannot attend live, you will receive an e-mail after each web-seminar with a link to the video recording. The first two recordings are now available on demand, so click below to register and watch Powerful interfaces for high-speed data transmission and High-performance interfaces for high currents and voltages.
