REO UK, EMC UK and EMC Standards to Host Virtual Event in May 2021

REO UK in conjunction with EMC UK and EMC Standards is hosting the UK’s only independent EMC virtual event in May this year.

Several of the on-demand speaker sessions are directly relevant to the Transport and especially the Railway industry.

The sessions will be chaired by Ian MacDiarmid, Visiting Professor in Applied Electromagnetics, University of Liverpool and will be presented under the following headings:-

  • Development and Management of EMC Specifications and their Application in the Railway Environment

Speakers: Martin Grant, Chartered Electrical Systems Engineer; and Stephanie Ambala; both from Atkins.

  • Achieving real-life whole railway system electromagnetic compatibility using theoretical modelling and practical assessments

Speakers: Martin Grant, Chartered Electrical Systems Engineer; and Stephanie Ambala; both from Atkins.

  • Taking good care of our neighbours – the story of an LRT scheme

Speakers: Rui Da Cruz Santo, EMC Team Lead, Technical Specialist, Mott Macdonald`

In addition, world renowned EMC Expert, Keith Armstrong will provide 2 days’ worth of online training and accompanying notes. Unlike EMC design courses heavy with maths, these courses are the result of 40+ years of a very wide variety of very successful design engineering based on the maths, but not needing it.

Keith said that ‘Using EMC test laboratories is the most time-consuming and costly way to develop EMC designs. For product success we need to design modern electronic products so that EMC tests are only needed once (if at all), for final design validation!’

The workshop sessions, there are over 25, and Keith’s courses will be made available to anyone subscribing to the event and potential ‘virtual’ delegates can register their interest by visiting https://www.emcuk.co.uk/emcuk-2021 and clicking the ‘Go to Registration’ button.
