New digital workplace onboarding system creates surge in site productivity

  • Users also report significant confidence boost in post-Covid workplace return

A new digital workplace onboarding platform created by health and safety software innovators, Work Wallet, is helping businesses increase site safety awareness and productivity.

Site Gateway is a digital self-service tool that enables businesses to provide safe and easy site access by onboarding visitors and contractors before they arrive – shifting face-to-face compliance processes online, and freeing up valuable time for other site management essentials.

Site Gateway complements Work Wallet’s award-winning modular software by sending a pre-arrival weblink to contractors and visitors, containing essential information for them to read and complete before they step on site – including inductions, site-specific rules, and submitting and validating permits to work.

Jonny Gray, CEO of Work Wallet, commented:

“The success of our new Site Gateway feature is that it’s simple to use and manage, streamlining site safety before anyone actually steps on site.

“It creates a connected safety culture, improving and monitoring visitors’ site-specific safety understanding and assuring businesses of compliance – while site managers feel they can focus on other essential areas, increasing productivity.”

Mark Blundy, Director of Health and Safety for Bowmer & Kirkland, said:

“Work Wallet is essential in our journey towards paperless health and safety reporting, recording, inspection, and management.

“The new Site Gateway feature helps us manage our processes around permits to work and authority to proceed, allowing us efficient control of high-risk activities on our construction sites.

“We can already see the potential to develop and apply this feature in digitalising more of our procedures in future, reducing administration and freeing up site managers’ time.”

Additionally, research by Work Wallet shows that 83 percent of staff whose employer uses Site Gateway feel more positive about returning to their physical workplace post-pandemic because of better communication about COVID and the minimisation of physical contact that using an online portal allows.

By using Site Gateway, site managers keep control of the whole onboarding process from their own digital device and benefit from sophisticated monitoring and reporting functionality, enabling focused, real-time, data-driven decision making. Managers of multiple sites can easily segment and compare data on a site-by-site basis.

Subscribers to Work Wallet’s modular system enhance their experience with Site Gateway for a fixed monthly fee, not charged by the number of users, meaning costs do not fluctuate and site budgets can be more easily managed.

The all-in-one Work Wallet health and safety app was originally developed for the  construction, rail and manufacturing industries to help keep their sites, staff and contractors safe, but is equally usable by any business with physical premises or operating in high-risk environments.
