Elaine Clark and other industry colleagues spend night on station floor for charity

Elaine Clark, CEO of the Rail Forum, and other colleagues, up and down the country, slept on the floor at a nearby railway station to raise awareness and funds for the Railway Children, a charity that help provide protection and opportunity for children with nowhere to go and no one to turn to.

Elaine slept on the floor at Derby train station on Thursday 31st March with many others; a short video about the importance of this sleepout, created by Rail Forum member Inside Out Group, can be found below.

All those who slept on the floor were well-equipped with sleeping bags, warm jackets and fresh doughnuts, kindly supplied by ProjectD in Derby.

In the morning, Elaine and the others were greeted with hot bacon and egg breakfast rolls, as well as freshly brewed coffee, generously provided by the Derby Conference Centre.

The sleepouts across the country have raised an incredible £157,000 so far with the figure constantly rising. Any donation is very much appreciated, so if you wish to donate, click here.
