Flotec reaches finalist stage for diversity and inclusion

Flotec is delighted to announce it has reached finalist stage for diversity and inclusion through the Federation of Small Businesses.

The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) exists to help smaller companies achieve their ambitions by offering a wide range of training and hands-on advisory and support services.

Each year, the FSB holds an awards ceremony to celebrate the outstanding work being done by small businesses throughout the UK.

Flotec has been successful in reaching finalist stage for the diversity and inclusion category of the FSB 2023 East Midlands Celebrating Business Awards.

The judging panel was suitably impressed with the Flotec team embracing their employee-owned status to create a culture of diversity and inclusion.

This has been achieved by implementing such initiatives as signing the EDI Charter organised by Women in Rail and the Railway Industry Association, becoming a disability confident employer, through to training staff in becoming workplace mental wellbeing first aiders.

Flotec has proven that creating an EDI-centric workplace generates profitable results with the SME manufacturer recently securing a multi-million-pound contract with the UKs second largest train operator, Northern.

Barry Michael Aldridge – Head of Marketing for Flotec Industrial Limited and Allocated EDI Champion comments on this recognition for the Loughborough-based SME manufacturer:

“This is fantastic news for Flotec and is testament to the team who naturally embrace EDI and realise the numerous benefits for doing so.

FSB do a Sterling job of recognising the diverse and exceptional work being done by small businesses throughout the UK and as such, is a humbling experience to have received this accolade for the East Midlands region.

I would like to congratulate all finalists and look forward to meeting with you at the awards ceremony in March.”

Winners of all categories will be announced at the East Midlands Celebrating Business Awards on Wednesday 15th March 2023, Marriott Hotel, Leicester.
