Rail Forum is delighted to announce three new Patrons: Angel Trains, Mitie, and European Metal Recycling (EMR). Patron membership is the highest level of Rail Forum affiliation and is offered by invitation only. It recognises organisations that value and support the Forum’s work across the rail sector and wish to contribute more significantly to its ongoing success.
The three new Patrons join a distinguished group of long-standing supporters: Alstom, AtkinsRéalis, MTMS, Porterbrook, Resonate, and Wabtec.
Patrons play a vital role in supporting the success of Rail Forum’s diverse portfolio of activity – from keeping members informed and delivering events on critical industry topics, to leading key workstreams focused on innovation, manufacturing and exports, as well as initiatives around skills development, schools’ engagement and rail safety. Their financial contributions enable Rail Forum to strengthen its advocacy, deliver on programmes of activity, and continue to provide valued services to members across the UK rail supply chain.
Kelly Parish, Director of Transport and Aviation at Mitie, said: “Mitie are thrilled to be selected as a Patron of the Rail Forum. This prestigious recognition underscores our commitment to supporting excellence in the rail industry. We look forward to collaborating closely with industry leaders to drive progress and make lasting contributions to the sector.
“At Mitie, we are transforming places with our technology, innovation, and passion for excellence. When we look after places, we’re looking after people and communities. And when communities prosper, we all succeed – and that’s what inspires us every day; better places, thriving communities.”
Matthew Labuda, Head of Customer Services, Marketing and Communications at Angel Trains, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to become a Patron of the Rail Forum. We strongly believe in the crucial role that a robust and diverse rail supply chain plays in supporting UK rail and driving economic growth, and we’re pleased to be able to show our support for the work the Rail Forum does to help make that happen.”
Stephen Drag, Head of Automotive & Rail at EMR, said: “EMR was delighted to accept the Rail Forum’s invitation to become a patron. It’s clear that the rail industry will be vital to the UK’s green transition. What’s now also clear is that a circular economy which gives material from end-of-life rolling stock a second useful life – and limits the mining of nature-depleting virgin materials – is an essential step towards this future.
“Joining Rail Forum has given everyone at EMR an opportunity to see how much enthusiasm all stakeholders in the industry have in meeting these challenges head on.”
Elaine Clark OBE, CEO at Rail Forum, commented: “We are incredibly pleased to welcome Angel Trains, Mitie, and European Metal Recycling as our newest Patrons. Their commitment to the sector, shared values, and investment in our work will help us continue to grow our impact and deliver even more value across the industry. Patrons are more than just supporters – they are partners in shaping the future of rail and unleashing UK rail excellence. With these new additions to our Patron family, we are better placed to drive forward innovation, skills, and collaboration across the supply chain.”
