Rail Forum Launches #MayMake Campaign to Celebrate the Strength of UK Rail Manufacturing

The MayMake logo

Rail Forum is proud to be launching #MayMake, a month-long social media campaign dedicated to putting UK rail manufacturing in the spotlight. Running throughout May 2026, the campaign invites Rail Forum members and the wider industry to share what they make, where they make it, and who makes it happen. It is designed to celebrate the depth of engineering talent and manufacturing expertise that exists in the UK.

From components and systems to full vehicle assembly, alongside the fabrication, build and delivery of critical rail infrastructure, the UK rail supply chain is a powerhouse of innovation, expertise and capability. MayMake is Rail Forum’s opportunity to amplify that message.

“It is more important than ever to focus on UK Manufacturing, and we are delighted to continue our work with Rail Forum to shine a spotlight on the amazing innovation and rail manufacturing expertise we have across our industry. Throughout the month of May, TDI Greenway will be promoting the work we do with our supply chain and sharing our latest developments in Very Light Rail. Rail Forum’s MayMake Campaign is an opportunity for all of us to shout about what we do and share what we are good at!”

Nicola Islef, Head of External Relations, TDI Greenway

“We have long recognised the value of UK manufacturing as an economic driver for rail and regional economies, and we are delighted to have a passionate Manufacturing Steering Group to help us shape activities such as MayMake. In its second year, MayMake really does provide members an important showcasing opportunity and for buyers and stakeholders, the opportunity to understand just how much capability is here, across the length and breadth of the country. We encourage the industry to support this important campaign.”

How to Get Involved

Whether a manufacturer, a tier one supplier, or a business supporting the supply chain from behind the scenes, Rail Forum is calling on organisations across the sector to share their story. Members and non-members alike are encouraged to post on LinkedIn using #MayMake and tag @Rail Forum. Rail Forum will then amplify that content to its network and beyond.

MayMake is a chance to demonstrate to customers, partners, and those making procurement decisions that the capability they need is right here.
