Kilborn Consulting Limited, specialists in signalling design, telecoms, and level crossings, has announced that they have joined global infrastructure engineering firm TYLin (pronounced Tee Why Lin).
For TYLin, this is a strategic first step into the United Kingdom rail market, as they seek to expand their presence in Europe. Xavier Montobbio, COO of TYLin Europe Latam of TYLin says of the acquisition of Kilborn Consulting Limited:
“With more than 25 years of experience in the sector, Kilborn has built a strong reputation for its technical depth, reliability, and close client relationships across the United Kingdom. Their team brings expertise that will significantly enhance TYLin’s capabilities. By joining forces, we are creating a stronger organisation, better placed to take on ambitious and rewarding projects.”
Kilborn Consulting Limited celebrated their 25th anniversary last year, with many supporters and previous clients offering praise and support on their social media channels. Paul McSharry, Managing Director, noted that the acquisition was a “natural next step” for the company.
In joining TYLin, Kilborn Consulting will complement TYLin’s various railway systems teams, whose work is already recognised in international markets.
Paul says,
“It is a delight and an honour to join TYLin. As we have gotten to know each other in recent months, it is clear that TYLin loves and respects us as individuals and as a team, and that their culture mirrors ours at Kilborn Consulting. We have a shared dedication to excellence and ambition, and our team at Kilborn will be a perfect fit for the goals that TYLin has.
I’m so proud of my team for all they have achieved over the last 25 years, and I’m excited to see them flourish in this new chapter.
We are so grateful to our loyal clients, colleagues and friends across the industry. We will continue on as you have known us, except now part of something different which will bring an exciting future for our team.”
Kilborn Consulting Limited will now move from being a SME to being part of TYLin. The team will continue to function in their current setup, except now with a further reach.
