Young rugby players have won kit and training equipment as well as tickets to watch the Super League Grand Final, as part of a competition run by Northern.
Holderness Vikings Under 15s enjoyed a training session run by Hull Kingston Rovers players Tevita Pangai Junior and Jordan Dezaria yesterday, after they were presented with their prizes.
They were given kit and training equipment, including 30 playing and training kits, tackle shields, post protectors, bibs, cones, water bottles and a match ball.
The also got 30 tickets to this year’s Super League Grand Final and 30 tickets to the next Magic Weekend.
Northern, which is an official partner of the league, launched the competition earlier this year, before the 2026 season got underway.
The train operator received 730 entries from grassroots clubs across the North of England, including senior sides, community clubs and school teams.
Each one submitted their details and a photograph of their team, before being entered into a draw.
The runners up were East Hull Girls Under 13s, Dodworth Miners Under 8s, Pilkington Recs ARFLC Under 10s, Silsden Storm Under 9s and Beverley Braves Under 10s.
They each won training equipment and tickets to the Grand Final and Magic Weekend.
Dave Emerson, Assistant Coach of Holderness Vikings Under 15s, said: “We would like to thank Northern for this amazing prize. It will not only benefit our team but other age groups involved with Holderness Vikings too.
“As we are expanding as a club all the time its great to have enough equipment for all to use.
“Our team is especially looking forward to all going to the Grand Final together as this is a great way of team building and bringing everyone closer together.
“It’s also a great ending for a fantastic season from the lads.”

Last year, Batley ARLFC Under 8s were announced as the winners of the competition. They enjoyed a training session run by Huddersfield Giants star Tom Burgess, before they were presented with their prizes.
Northern is the second largest train operator in the UK, with 2,650 services a day to more than 500 stations across the North of England.
