AtkinsRéalis Group has been awarded three General Engineering Consultant (GEC) contracts by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) with a combined value of approximately US$135 million. Through these five-year agreements, AtkinsRéalis will support transportation planning, program delivery, engineering, operations and infrastructure development across some of Florida’s fastest-growing regions.

Ian L. Edwards, President and Chief Executive Officer, AtkinsRéalis, said:

“Reliable transportation networks are essential to economic growth and community connectivity, and these awards reflect the confidence the Florida Department of Transportation continues to place in our ability to advance complex infrastructure programs over the long term.

“By bringing together our engineering, program management and digital capabilities, we are helping clients deliver critical infrastructure more efficiently and effectively.

“We look forward to building on these long-standing relationships and contributing to Florida’s future growth.”

Under the three on-call contracts, AtkinsRéalis will provide a broad range of consulting, program management, engineering and technical services to support FDOT’s transportation work programs. AtkinsRéalis also plans to deploy proven technologies, including its hurricane tracking and emergency management tools, to enhance district operations and resiliency planning.

The District Four contract marks a significant milestone as AtkinsRéalis’ first appointment as prime GEC in the district located in southeastern Florida. The contracts with Districts One and Seven continue relationships that began more than three decades ago. The Company has provided GEC services to multiple FDOT districts across the state for more than 35 years. In addition to highways and local roads, FDOT oversees railway lines, deep water ports, public and private airports and Space Florida, the state’s aerospace finance and development authority.

Byron Bright, President, U.S, AtkinsRéalis, said:

“Florida continues to be one of the most dynamic transportation markets in North America, making reliable delivery and long-term planning more important than ever.

“Securing our first GEC appointment in District Four while continuing our work in Districts One and Seven reflects decades of experience supporting FDOT’s transportation priorities.

“By combining local knowledge with deep program management, engineering and technical expertise, we’re focused on helping move critical transportation investments from planning to delivery and helping communities keep pace with Florida’s continued growth.”

Beyond Florida, AtkinsRéalis has a strong track record of providing GEC and program management services to transportation agencies throughout the United States including in Colorado, Georgia, New York, North Carolina and Texas, reinforcing its position as a leading partner for the delivery of complex infrastructure programs.
