Factory 2050
With the volume of work across the industry, the scarcity of resources and the limits on budgets, the challenge to both customer and supplier to work together for greater efficiency and productivity has never been greater. There are opportunities in automating design tasks, in manufacturing and installation, and across many inspection and maintenance tasks.
The RIA Unlocking Innovation – Automation in Rail event will look at how automation can benefit the rail industry and what exciting new opportunities will come out of it. The event will cover design, rolling stock issues and infrastructure across our topics.
VENUE
The venue will be the inspirational Factory 2050 facility, part of the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) in Sheffield, where work is going on to map the way to a more productive future. Delegates are invited to tour some of the facilities at Factory 2050 as part of the event and to find out more about AMRC as a partner for development of your own business.
SPEAKERS
Speakers will include Andy Doherty the CTO of Network Rail on their work in Automation under the Shift2Rail programme and his colleague Rob Forde on relevant sections of the CP6 R&D Programme. Chris Mundell of the East West Rail Alliance will be talking about their work on Design for Manufacture & Assembly (DFMA) and the part to be played by Automation in design.
PITCHES
As ever with Unlocking Innovation, there will be opportunities for SMEs to pitch relevant products and services and for companies to buy inexpensive Exhibition space. Both opportunities are limited and subject to selection by RIA on relevance to the topic. Please get in touch with milda.manomaityte@riagb.org.uk to discuss both.
Places are strictly limited to 100 delegates so book early and get in touch if having registered you are unable to attend so your place can be reallocate.
