Special Prestige Lecture In conjunction with Derby City Council Richard Brown gives a view on the U.K. Railway 20 Years after Privatisation

Richard Brown, who lives in Derby, is a senior railway professional having held chief executive roles at Eurostar, Midland Mainline and has been a non-executive director of Network Rail, as well as advising the Department for Transport on the rail strategy. This is a critical time for the rail industry in Britain. Drawing on his 41 years in the rail industry, 25 of them at a senior level, Richard Brown will review the successes and shortcomings of the industry since privatisation. He will highlight the key challenges it now faces and therefore the questions that the recently announced Williams Review of the industry’s structure will need to answer if it is to be successful in assisting the industry move forward.
