The manufacturing sector has been facing unprecedented pressures from all sides in recent times.  With many businesses still wearing the scars of the pandemic, the additional issues of workforce shortages, rising fuel prices, and supply chain instability have been reducing production capability and affecting profit margins.

On 29 November, we are delighted to welcome Neill Smith from the Manufacturing Technology Centre who will be joining manufacturing sector expert Simon Key for this webinar focused on the supply chain challenges that the sector is facing.

Neill has almost 40 years’ experience in manufacturing both domestically and abroad and with Simon’s background advising businesses in this sector on the legal issues, they will be discussing:

  • What’s causing the problems?
  • Current economic forces and related contractual implications
  • Shipping costs and who is responsible for the bill
  • Liquidity – cash cycle and funding considerations
  • Re-shoring and the impact on contracts with existing suppliers
  • Re-engineering/Value-engineering the product
  • Opportunities

Using recent case examples, this event will be interactive and informative and there will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions.
