This event will take place online.

Members only event.

In January we launched our Route 2 Zero programme aimed at supporting members to get to grips with the challenges of reducing their carbon footprint  – and not just carbon but other green house gases too! Our launch event in January featured a number of speakers from key clients explaining what they expect of the supply chain.

The launch was followed in March by our first ‘member showcase’ demonstrating the different activities and approaches that supply chain companies are taking; enabling colleagues to learn from their experience. This next event will provide members further opportunity to hear about what companies are doing to reduce their environmental impact.

Our featured members this month are:

DB Cargo. DB Cargo will provide our first freight operator’s perspective, sharing their plans and activities. Freight has a crucial role to play in the whole decarbonisation agenda and the key message ‘freight belongs on rail’ captures the important role this part of the industry should have in the future.

Anderton Concrete.  Cement and concrete products are used extensively across the rail industry with cement production being recognised as a high carbon activity.  Anderton will explain how they are reducing the carbon content of their UK products to make a real difference in their part of the market.

Ainscough Cranes. The volume of diesel used across the railway is another area that requires attention – from rolling stock to mobile plant and fleet vehicles. Ainscough will share their journey towards 100% use of HVO as part of their drive towards becoming carbon neutral.

Each company will speak for roughly 10 minutes about their initiatives and experience followed by the opportunity to ask questions and share thoughts and ideas aimed at helping colleagues who are grappling with what they need to do in their businesses.

The session will be hosted on Zoom and will last no longer than 60 minutes.

Bookings will close on 15th May and joining information will be issued to registered delegates on Monday 16th May.
