At Prolectric, we engineer off-grid solar lighting, power, CCTV and connectivity solutions as sustainable alternatives to traditional mains- and diesel-powered products. Working with some of the UK’s largest contractors and transport infrastructure providers, we support the reduction of carbon emissions and operational costs across UK projects and sites, removing the reliance on diesel. Since 2017, we have helped our customers save over 80m kgs of CO₂e and over £40m in operational costs.

Our heritage in the rail industry is extensive. Working in collaboration with Colas Rail in 2018, we launched our ProRXM Solar Tower Light to replace VT1 diesel tower lights while maintaining the same footprint, allowing it to fit easily into trackside cesses and space-limited compounds. In 2019, we provided power and lighting for Network Rail’s “Site of the future” in Llanwern, reducing diesel use by 97% across the project and proving, without a doubt, that infrastructure projects can operate successfully and cost-effectively without diesel or mains power.

In 2020, we launched the UK’s first solar hybrid generator. On average, it saves users £17,500+ annually on diesel and maintenance. Over a typical 7-year period, total cost savings exceed £88,000, while reducing CO₂ emissions by more than 200,000 kg.

 All our groundbreaking innovations are designed and manufactured at our facility in Clevedon, near Bristol. In 2017, we patented the only solar-powered lighting system that works autonomously, adapting itself to ensure it works throughout the night, even in the depths of the UK winters, guaranteeing that it will work as long and as hard as you do. Unlike other lights on the market, ours need no monthly battery draining and recharging, making them truly ‘setup and forget’.
