RSK Business Solutions’ Hazard Management Tool (HMT) has been Highly Commended in the Product of the Year category at the Spotlight Rail North Dinner & Awards, held on Thursday 22 October.
HMT is a cloud-based platform that digitises the CSM-RA hazard management process. Instead of starting hazard records from scratch or from spreadsheets, users answer project-specific questions, and the tool automatically fills in the relevant hazards from RSSB’s CHAMOIS hazard list and links them to the applicable standards. Role-based permissions, approval workflows and a full audit trail mean multiple disciplines can work on the same record at once, with every decision traceable.
The tool was developed by RSK’s rail safety engineers and software developers. Its development has been shaped by feedback from Tier 1 contractors, RSSB and a Network Rail Eastern Region steering group.

HMT is also a finalist for Best Rail Team of the Year at the Rail Link LOOKOUT Awards 2026 and has been shortlisted for Cymru SPOTLIGHT Rail Awards product of the year.
