Hitachi Rail has been awarded the signalling contract for the construction of NS3A and NS6 MRT stations on Singapore’s North-South Line (NSL), supporting the expansion of one of the world’s most advanced urban rail networks and reinforcing the company’s long-standing partnership with the Land Transport Authority (LTA).
The contract covers the signalling works required to integrate the two new stations into the operational railway. The project will be delivered by Hitachi Rail’s Singapore-based team, leveraging expertise in system integration, testing and commissioning to ensure the seamless introduction of the new infrastructure while maintaining high standards of operational performance and service reliability. The works will be delivered using Hitachi Rail’s SELTRAC™ Communications-Based Train Control (CBTC) technology, a globally proven signalling solution deployed on major metro networks in cities including New York, London, Hong Kong and Singapore.
The signalling solutions for NS3A, an infill station on existing NSL, and NS6, a future interchange with the Downtown Line 2 extension, will be integrated into the current system while maintaining safe and reliable passenger operations. When completed, NS6 station will support future network expansion and increase operational flexibility.
