The Government has announced the following online participation events for those importing certain goods with specific commodity codes (CNs) containing embedded carbon. The goods in question are:
- Aluminium (certain items in the CN 76 list)
- Cement (certain items in the CN list – 2507 and 2523)
- Fertilisers (contact Rail Forum if you think it applies to yourselves for the full list)
- Hydrogen (CN code 2804 10 00)
- Iron and steel (certain CNs in the 72 and 73 list)
(Please note: Glass goods are currently excluded from the UK draft regulations).
Rail Forum has the current CN list of goods subject to the proposed CBAM legislation, should members need further clarification.
There are 4 online sessions (2 different sessions each repeated twice). These will be delivered by the Government’s UK CBAM policy officials. If any member is interested in registering for one of these sessions, they should sign up directly using the links below.
