Aura Brand Solutions is proud to announce the successful delivery of the rail industry’s first Great British Railways (GBR) wrap, completed for Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR) on a Class 387 four-car train.
The landmark project marks the beginning of the wider GBR rollout programme, which will see trains across the UK rebranded under a single identity throughout 2026 and beyond as part of The Railways Bill and the future unification of Britain’s railway network.
Aura completed the full exterior transformation in just five days, enabling the train to return to service as quickly as possible. Installation took place at Brighton Depot, where Aura carried out the removal of existing branding, bodywork repairs, surface preparation, and application of the new livery.
Every stage of the project was managed in-house by Aura’s specialist rail team, from initial surveys and templating through to print production and installation.
Close collaboration between all stakeholders was central to the success of the programme, with multiple planning and coordination meetings ensuring the project was delivered efficiently and to the highest standard.
John Bekalo, Director of Rail at Aura says,
“It’s an honour for us to have been selected to deliver the first fully wrapped GBR train. We’re incredibly proud to be helping shape the next chapter of Britain’s railway journey by working collaboratively with GTR and all project stakeholders to bring the new identity to life. It’s a milestone moment for our business and the wider industry, and an exciting glimpse into the future of the railway in the UK. We’re grateful to the hard work of everyone involved including the team at Aura.”
This project further strengthens Aura’s position as a leading branding partner within the rail industry, with extensive experience delivering complex fleet transformations, refurbishment programmes, and nationwide rail branding projects.
