University of Derby: Inspiring and developing the businesses of tomorrow

The University of Derby run a series of part-funded or fully-funded programmes that help businesses benefit from university expertise and technology.

The longest running is the Knowledge Transfer Partnership Scheme (KTP), which can help you address a specific business need by connecting your organisation with one of our academics and a recent graduate.

More recently, they have received funding to help private businesses in the East Midlands (particularly SMEs) with R&D, innovation and growth.

Their research is focused on making a practical, positive difference to people’s lives and this includes helping businesses become more efficient and sustainable. One way you can do this is by adopting digital technologies – see how they’re helping all kinds of industries do this.

The University has over 500 researchers (staff and students) who are working hard to advance knowledge in some critical fields of enquiry. You can see the full list of research centres and groups.

They partner with businesses on many of our research projects, sometimes through the Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) Scheme, which is part-funded.

If you have an idea for some research, please contact the Business team who can help you find the right person to talk to.
