CoMech Metrology Announcements

Longtime Rail Forum member, CoMech Metrology are excited to announce that they are now responsible for the sales, calibration and maintenance of all MiniProf rail instruments for the UK and Ireland.

What are the MiniProf Units?

The MiniProf units are becoming world-renowned, with thousands of users in over 50 countries. The MiniProf family from Greenwood Engineering includes the Rail, Wheel, Lightrail Wheel, Brake, Twinhead, Switch & Crossings and Wheel 400 measuring devices. Each unit features a full contact, knife-shaped contact point for seamlessly cutting through layers of dirt, grease, frost and leaves, making them suitable for using in virtually any working environment.

Made from lightweight and ultra-strong titanium, the MiniProf units operate with a small magnetic measuring wheel and rotating high-resolution optical encoders. The combination of Bluetooth connectivity and professional Envision software gives the opportunity to wirelessly take a vast amount of measurements on Android smartphones, tablets and PCs.

Each new MiniProf device comes complete with a sturdy transport case that is waterproof, dustproof and impact-resistant.

Key Features

Accuracy is ensured due to the full contact point on all instruments. An impressive 20-30.000 individual points are collected in one simple swoop of the magnetic wheel. In addition, these measurements are collected in less than five seconds with an accuracy range of 9-11µm. The great scope of measurement is made possible with the MiniProf Envision software, which is suitable for using with an Android smartphone, tablet or PC.

All the instruments have an operating temperature of -15°C to +35°C with a battery life of 10 hours or 1,000 Bluetooth measurements. This can be extended even further when they are connected via USB.

The MiniProf range has been specifically made for the quality control, maintenance and safety regulation of rail tracks, brakes and wheels. The easy to use instruments are perfect for using within rail depots and other organisations around the world.

Alongside showcasing Greenwood Engineering’s MiniProf instruments, CoMech will be presenting our latest version of our technically advanced TrackRecordPro asset management system to the thousands of expected visitors at this year’s Railtex event.

Following the success of our TrackIt and TrackRecordPro software suites, CoMech are extremely pleased to announce that CoMech Metrology will be releasing a new and updated version of TrackRecordPro very soon.

The existing industry-compliant and cloud-based software have been given a complete makeover. TrackRecordPro has been remodelled to offer existing and new customers a streamlined experience for managing their quantities of assets. The updated version of TrackRecordPro has been specifically designed to help a wide variety of businesses across the country to manage and control the maintenance, upgrades and replacements of their assets, no matter the type. This is achieved by providing businesses with a user-friendly interface that can be easily managed, along with advanced and up-to-date status reports.

You can access TrackRecordPro at any time, in any place to fit around your day-to-day schedule. The only requirement this system needs is a smartphone, tablet or computer with an Internet connection for online access.

This innovative system is packed with countless features that would greatly benefit any business. One example includes the ability to add delivery notes to jobs, which can then be exported in a PDF format. Details regarding collections can also be updated with an asset’s record and printed off.

An exciting addition to this universal system is the new barcode scanning feature, which enables businesses to use their Android devices (or suitable barcode scanner) to scan an asset’s barcode for searching within their asset database on TrackRecordPro.
